I would be lying if I said that my hair is perfect and I don’t face hair issues like very other girl in this world. The truth is that we all go through good hair and bad hair phases but the point is to ensure that the bad hair phase is as short as possible. Today in this post I will be sharing how I take care of my hair, tips and tricks I learned in the past couple of years to maintain healthy hair and hopefully answer all your question that you’ve left on my social media. FOOD FOR HAIR
Before I start listing my hair care recommendations it is very important to mention the food that I have to make sure that my hair stays at its best, they’re shinny and thick. Have you ever thought why every ad for volumizing or hair growth shampoo promote the protein ingredient so much? BECAUSE PROTEINS DO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF YOUR HAIR. Increase protein intake in your daily meals by having milk, eggs and nuts and pulses because to improve the healthy of your hair. you don’t want hair fall due to low protiens in your diet right?
I still remember amma used to oil my hair every weekend as a child. Summer used to be the time when amma oiled my hair before every wash, CAN YOU IMAGINE? This is probably why I have healthy hair since childhood. However it doesn’t mean that if you naturally have good hair then you don’t need to oil your hair. Oils like coconut, mustard, cactus, almond and olive oils are super beneficial in restoring the health of your hair. Read my last year’s hair care post where I’ve mentioned which oil to use for various hair problems HERE.
FRIZZY HAIR TREATMENT
A lot of us face this issue in summers and even in winters. The main reason why your hair is frizzy is probaby because your hair is dehydrated. Here’s what you need to do:
- Increase your water intake immediately
- Use olive/argan/cocunut oil preferably hot atleast once a week
- Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner
- Don’t forget to use anti-frizz serums
BALD SPOTS TREATMENT AND TIPS FOR HAIR GROWTH
My instagram inbox was filled with requests on how to treat bald spots and hair growth. I personally don’t have big bald spots but my younger sister had a hair fall issue last hair and she found a great solution to cover bald spots. Khadeejah will be posting her hair mask along with her complete hair care routine on the blog soon so stay tuned for that. Here are my tips:
- Use castor oil- this works really quick
- You can also apply ginger paste for fast hair growth
- Eat multivitamin supplements especially ones with Vitamin C for hair growth
- Use Omega 3 supplements like cord liver oils also improve hair growth
- Eat more fruits and vegetables that are rich in anti-oxidants
Dandruff again occurs because your hair ad scalp are dehydrated. What you need to do is moisturize your scalp well to reduce the dandruff and hair fall caused by dandruff. Here’s are some tips to treat dandruff:
- Apply a yogurt mask to reduce flaky dandruff All you need to do is mix yogurt with coconut or olive oil and apply this mask once a week.
- Drink 8 glasses of water
- Eat fruits rich in water
THIN HAIR TREATMENT
Last year my hair became really this and I started applying henna dye. Let me tell you it has done wonders because my hair is really thick and luscious now, much more shiny and surprisingly they have straightened a lot. Here are a few other things you should to get back you thick hair:
- Shampoo your hair as less as possible
- Apply mustard oil twice a week
- Reduce the use of hot tools
