What’s up you guys? Its been a long time since I have posted any hair care stuff and it probably is time to share the most requested blog post of my life. If you didn’t already know, I have been dying my hair with henna for the past 3.5 years and I think I have tried all possible henna dyes you could ever find in Pakistan. My suggestion is to go with the Saeed ghanni henna dye powders which comes in 4-5 variants starting from blacks, to browns to reds.
As a teenager, I always wanted to dye my hair red or burgandy but like most desi moms, my mom was super against the notion of teenagers dying their hair in the first place and then going for red/burgandy hair was like asking me to go on a solo euro trip like Simran in DDLJ. Fast forwarding to mid 2014, my classfellow told me how she dyed her hair with henna which not only made her hair redish brown but her hair became straight, silky and very thick. Finally getting a ” ja beta jee le apni zindagi” permission to dye my hair with henna because it was natural dye and not cosmetic, I started dying my hair and oh boy, I haven’t looked back since that day.
Every time I post a picture on my Instagram, I get comments and DMs asking what L’Oreal shade is my hair and when I reply saying its henna, people get shocked as if am eating henna or something. All our daadis and naanis have been doing it for decades, so how its is “uncool” to apply henna. Henna doesn’t damage my hair, its less costly and I can do it at home as per comfort, so why not? I just posted a video showing the process of henna application on my YouTube. In case you want to watch I am posting the video below.
I am sharing three recipes that you can use according to you hair types. If you use them, do share the results with me. I would love to see your hair.
